Information About 1394C-AM50
The 1394C-AM50 is a series C axis module for use with Allen-Bradley 1394 System modules and 9/440 CNC / Drive Systems.
This axis module has the same specification with the 1394-AM50 axis module including the installation procedure. The main difference between the modules is that the 1394C-AM50 is already provided with Cable Clamp with strain relief and shield bond and 24VDC EMI filter for motor brake and thermal circuit. Axis modules, regardless of their series, are physically interchangeable.
A maximum of Four (4) axis modules can be installed with one system module. With the 1394C-AM50, there are Five (5) possible axis module combinations that can be built. For combination A, Zero (0) number of axes, 1394x-AM50, or -AM75, and 1394C-AM50-IH, or -AM75-IH may be used or 1394x-AM03, AM04, or AM07 resulting to up to Four (4) axes. Combination B includes 1394x-AM50, or -AM75, and 1394C-AM50-IH, or -AM75-IH for 1 Axes or 1394x-AM03, AM04, or AM07 which up to Three (3) axes may be configured. Combination C includes 1394x-AM50, or -AM75, and 1394C-AM50-IH, or -AM75-IH for Two (2) axes or 1394x-AM03, AM04, or AM07 where up to Two (2) axes may be configured. Combination D are composed of 1394x-AM50, or -AM75, and 1394C-AM50-IH, or -AM75-IH for Three (3) axes or 1394x-AM03, AM04, or AM07 which may be configured up to One (1) axes. Finally, Combination E allows 1394x-AM50, or -AM75, and 1394C-AM50-IH, or -AM75-IH where up to Four (4) axes may be configured.
When installing a combination of axis modules, 1394x-AM50, -AM75, -AM50-IH, and -AM75-IH must be mounted closest to the system module.
The Allen-Bradley 1394C-AM50 is a series C axis module in the 1394 series. This product can control three-phase servos, but its main function is acting as an inverter. This module can convert DC power from the input into three-phase AC power for controlling the servo. Its output frequency is 240 Hertz, output power is 23.3 Amps, continuous current rating is 32.2 Amps, and 10 kW peak power rating. The 1394C-AM50 has a cable clamp and an EMI filter. This is the improvement compared to series A and B axis modules. The cable clamp contains a strain filter and a shield bond. The strain filter increases the flexibility of the cable and the shield bond prevents electromagnetic interference. The EMI filter also contains a motor brake and a thermal circuit. Make sure to install the top mounting fasteners on the subpanel for all the axis modules and install the axis module on the next mounting fastener. Make sure all fasteners are mounted properly.
