Information About 150-C85NBR
The Allen-Bradley 150-C85NBR is a SMC-3 Smart Motor Controller which is more popularly known as Soft Starter. This device is used to implement motor protective start-up functions by providing appropriate start-up and shutdown sequences such as Soft Start, Kickstart, Current Limiting, Coast to stop, and Soft-stop. These configurable starting and stopping modes aim to limit generation of inrush current, and minimize the effect of mechanical stress on the motor.
Selectable Start times lengthen the start period of the motor and distribute the rate of acceleration across the selected time. The selectable initial Torque permits the motor to provide minimum Torque that is up to 65% of the locked rotor Torque. The selectable current limit feature is used to limit the starting current with reference to the Full Load Current (FLA). It also has a selectable overload trip class to meet the required overload tripping category of a particular system.
The 150-C85NBR has a line operating voltage of 200-460VAC, 3-Phase, along a frequency of 50 / 60 Hz while the motor’s control Voltage is 24VDC / 24VAC. It may be used with line-connected and Delta-connected motors. It delivers a maximum output current of 85 Amperes and comes with an Open type enclosure. It has a pair of Normally Open (N.O.) auxiliary contacts that are assignable for OVLD / FLT feedback indication and Normal/Up-to-Speed feedback indication.
The 150-C85NBR has a line input voltage range of 200 to 480 Volts AC at 50 to 60 Hertz and an input current of 85 A. The controller’s power circuit offers a 2200 Volt AC dielectric withstand, a 600 Volt AC insulation voltage, a 1,400 Volt reverse voltage, and a DV/DT protection of 1000 Volts/µs with 6 KV impulse voltage. The 150-C85NBR offers circuit protection using a 300A non-time delay K5 fuse with 10KA (standard fault limit), a 300A thermal magnetic circuit breaker, with a 10KA standard fault limit and with a 175A high capacity time delay class J/CC fuse. The 150-C85NBR controller uses a 24 Volt AC/DC voltage for control, and its control circuit offers a 250 Volt AC insulation voltage, a 2.5KV rated impulse, and a dielectric withstand of 1500 Volts AC at 50 or 60 Hertz. It also has a 250 Volt AC or 30 Volt DC auxiliary contact with a 250 Volt insulation voltage, 2.5KV impulse voltage, and 1500 dielectric withstand at 50 to 60 Hertz. The auxiliary contact has an electromagnetic (E.M.) control circuit, with a normally open relay contact. The 150-C85NBR is built to withstand an operational vibration of 1G and an operational shock of 15G and is designed for use at a 2000 meter (6560 foot) maximum altitude without derating. The motor controller has a steady state heat dissipation of 82 Watts and is built to operate at a temperature range of -5 to 55 degrees Celsius at a relative humidity limit of 5 to 95% non-condensing. The 150-C85NBR has an open-style enclosure and an IP2X rating for use in a Degree 2 Pollution Environment. It has total dimensions of 2.83 x 8.11 x 5.12 inches and is CE, c-UL-us, CSA, and CCC-certified.
