The most commonly used is the soft start method, in which the user sets the motor to an initial torque setting (user-adjustable in a 0 to 90% range of fixed rotor torque), then increases output voltage gradually during the acceleration ramp time (0 to 30 seconds adjustable). This module’s kickstart option can also be applied with soft start. There is also a current limit (limiting maximum starting current) option, a dual ramp start option, a full voltage start (in 0.25 seconds) option, a soft stop option, a preset slow speed option, and a linear speed mode option. This SMC is equipped with an integral LCD display and programmable keyboard, for fast and user-friendly programming and configuration. An optional Bulletin 20-HMI LCD (Human-Module Interface) is offered as an alternative for programming purposes. This unit’s parameters are reasonably structured and can be viewed or edited over this module.
