The 150-F25NBD Smart Motor Controller (SMC) is manufactured by Allen-Bradley for implementing an efficient starting, stopping and control of motors , preventing damage due to operating stress to maximize the motor’s operational hours and save energy by reducing and preventing unwanted and unnecessary electrical signals. It belongs to the microprocessor and solid-state component of SMC-Flex family of motor management devices which may also be called as a soft starter.
An adequate wiring must be applied to this device. Proper wiring ang torque application reduces overheating to the soft starter’s terminals. As this is a device rated for 361 Ampere Current output, the recommended Lug kit for use is 199-LG1 with wire strip length of 18-25 mm. The appropriate conductor size range is 25 to 240 sq. mm or #6 to 250 MCM. For line side, a maximum no. of Two (2) Lugs per pole. Similarly, the Load side requires the same. When tightening, applied Torque shall for wire-Lug shall be 42 Nm or 275 lb/in. For Lug-Busbar termination, tightness shall be 28 Nm or 250 lb/in.
This soft starter has control terminals that contains the input wiring for the Control input power, Tachometer input, Ground Fault transformer input, Auxiliary contact #2, #3 and #4. Recommended wire sizes for control wiring are conductor range of 0.75…2.5 mm2 (18…14 AWG) and Torque of 0.6 Nm or 5 lb/in. The supply type to the control terminals are 1-Phase supply ranging from 100 to 240VAC.
The 150-F25NBD supports Line Connection with Isolation Contactor(Default Mode), Delta Connection with Isolation Contactor and Delta Connection with Shorted SCR Protection as optional wiring configurations.
