Information About 1734-TB3
The 1734-TB3 by Allen Bradley is a Terminal Base Assembly, intended to be paired with a POINT I/O module system. This is an assembly with a removable terminal, including a Removable Terminal Block, or RTB. It is classified as a member of the POINT I/O System family, which generally provides higher performance quality and better distribution control at a lower cost. Most available digital and analog I/O modules are compatible with this system, which also supports the Removal and Insertion of modules Under Power (RIUP). The 1734-TB3 is a 12-terminal cage-clamp terminal base assembly. This piece of equipment can be installed on a DIN-rail, with both vertical and horizontal installation being options. It provides a strong backplane design that includes power conduction and communication lines, and its Mechanical keying feature (orange colored) is one of the most convenient features designed for this module, helpfully guiding users not to install an incorrect I/O module into the system.
The 1734-TB3 includes a number of features, including a base, an RTB and handle, interlocking pieces on its sides, a DIN-rail locking screw, and a mechanical keying option (in orange). Replacement RTBs can be ordered independently with the code 1734-RTB3.
Weighing around 97.5 grams (or 3.44 ounces), with a voltage of 300 Volts and a 10 maximum terminal current, this module’s total size is around 65 x 12 x 160 millimeters (2.56 x 0.472 x 6.25 inches) and has wire size of about 0.34 to 2.1 millimeters (or 22 to 14 AWG). With a screw torque of 0.6 Nm (7 pounds/ inch), its power bus supply voltage is either 28.8 Volts DC, or 120 to 240 Volts AC.
There is no need for tools when composing this product. The 1734-TB3 can be quickly installed on a DIN-rail by simply positioning it above formerly connected modules and sliding it down. After pressing the base firmly to establish a connection with a DIN-rail, check the locking screw to ensure that it is in a horizontal position. The Mechanical keying feature (orange) should be correctly turned to a number that corresponds to the I/O module being installed. A removable terminal block is part of the assembly, corresponding to the replacement code 1734-TB3. This block provides the user with an option of fast base removal and/or change without performing any wiring.
Use a zinc plated DIN-rail when connecting the 1734-TB3 to a POINT I/O system that has a built-in DIN-rail grounding. This is the way to make proper grounding. More than 2 conductors should not be connected to any single terminal pin of the RTB.
