Information About 1746-C7
The Allen-Bradley 1746-C7 cable is a ribbon power cable that connects controllers and chassis. The spacing between the controllers and chassis are important to note. When using the 1746-C7 cable to connect SLC 500 controllers, the space between them should be between 2.5 and 4 inches. When using the cable to connect Allen-Bradley 1746-P4 power supplies, the maximum spacing between the supplies is 2.5 inches. The 1746-C7 cable itself measures 6 inches in length. It should only be used to connect chassis and controllers side by side, not in a stacked formation with one chassis or controller above the other.
The 1746-C7 cable is best-suited for connecting Allen-Bradley 1746-A4, 1746-A7, 1746-10, and 1746-A13 chassis. The cable can connect these chassis in any combination with each other (for example, the 1746-C7 cable can connect 2 1746-A4 chassis to each other, it can connect 1 1746-A4 chassis to any of the other chassis listed).
The 1746-C7 ribbon cable has a thermocouple analog input. It can sustain a backplane current of 110 mA at 5 Volts and a backplane current of 85 mA at 24 Volts.
