Information About 1746-C9
The Allen-Bradley 1746-C9 is a ribbon cable for connecting multiple chassis and controllers together. When using it to mount two 13-slot chassis in a stacked formation, with one above the other, the chassis should not be more than 5 inches apart.
For strain relief, the 1746-C9 cable has rigid shrink wrap at the end of its connectors. The rest of the cable is flexible and there should be at least 4 inches of clearance between and around the chassis that the cable is connecting.
The 1746-C9 cable is 36 inches (3 feet) in length and it is also known as chassis interconnect cable. It is ideal for connecting chassis with modular hardware that is inside an enclosure and spaced between 6 and 36 inches apart within the enclosure. The 1746-C9 connects the 1746-A4, 1746-A7, 1746-A10, or 1746-A13 chassis to each other in any combination (each chassis can be connected to the same type of chassis or to any of the others listed above.)
The 1746-C9 uses the 1746-RT32 connection hardware and has a thermocouple analog input. This ribbon cable can support 110 mA of backplane current at 5 Volts and 85 mA of backplane current at 24 Volts. The 1746-C9 only has 1 slot.
