Description
The Allen-Bradley 1746-FIO4I is a SLC500 fast analog I/O module. This module features Two (2) differential analog input channels that support current signals such as 0-20 mA and 0-10VDC input signal range. It also has Two (2) 0-20 mA Current output channels. This module has a resolution of 12-bits and uses Successive approximation converter type with input conversion time of 7.5 µs every 512 µs for the input channels and 14-bit resolution using R–2R ladder for analog outputs. This module occupies a single slot of the chassis and compatible for use with SLC500 Fixed and Modular style hardware.

The 1746-FIO4I may be used in applications with limited expansion space as this module combines the functionality of both analog input and output modules. Additionally, with the fast input characteristics, it can accept signals from rapid changing variables as it comes with nominal conversion time of 7.5 µs every 512 µs and step response of 100 µs.
The analog input channels have overall accuracy of ±0.440% of full scale @ 25 degrees C (77 degrees F) and ±0.750% of full scale @ 60 degrees C (140 degrees F). For analog output, the overall accuracy rating is ±0.298% of full scale @ +25 degrees C (77 degrees F) and ±0.541% of full scale @ 0…60 degrees C (32…140 degrees F). When wiring signals to the module, recommended cable for use is Shielded, Belden #8761 (recommended) with wire size 2.5 mm2 (14 AWG) max.
