Information About 1746-P4
The 1746-P4 is an SLC 500 power supply module that provides backplane power to a local chassis, expansion module or a remote I/O chassis. By providing backplane power, the modules attached to chassis slot becomes operable and capable of being recognized by the SLC processor.
This power supply has an input voltage requirement of 85 to 132/ 170 to 250V ac at frequency of 47 to 63 Hz. It is also provided with a 24VDC output that may be used to power external devices. It is not recommended to use this 24VDC output as supply for output modules. Doing so will make troubleshooting difficult to perform even for a single module as the system power supply will have to be shut off first which means the entire SLC 500 controller rack will have to be stopped.
All power supply of the SLC 500 product family features a feature called Hold-up time. Hold-up time refers to the capability of the processor to continue processing logic when the power supply module’s input supply falls below the nominal level. If the power supply continues to experience low voltage level and the hold-up time expires, the processor is stops processing the logic. Normal operation resumes once input voltage returns to normal level.
The specific hold-up time when the 1746-P4 is utilized is 20 ms (full load) 3000 ms (no load). This power supply is UL Listed as Industrial Control Equipment and certified for CSA Certified Process Control Equipment for Class 1, Div 2, Groups A, B, C, D Hazardous Locations.
Manufacturer information
Allen-Bradley, a brand of Rockwell Automation, specializes in manufacturing industrial automation equipment. The product range includes programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motion control systems, safety devices, motor control equipment, automation software, and HMI panels. Allen-Bradley products are known for their reliability and integration with other systems.
