The 1747-L532 is an SLC 5/03 controller module for the SLC 500 Modular Hardware by Allen-Bradley. It comes with Memory of 16KB, and built-in communication interfaces such as RS-232 Port and DH485 communication port. It is capable of 4096 Inputs points and 4096 Outputs points with an Analog I/O count of 480, 16K words of user memory, and an I/O scan time of 0.225 milliseconds.

The Allen-Bradley 1747-L532 is an SLC 5/03 Processor that is a part of the SLC 500 system. It is a small, simple, and pocket-sized processor with a wide range of applications such as small process control, material handling, and HVAC control. It contains a PLC-5 processor-based advanced instruction set. It can be stand-alone or distributed throughout a system for SCADA applications. The 1747-L532 processor has a total user memory of 16K words with 12K words for data/program and 4K words for data alone. It has up to 4096 inputs, 4096 outputs, and 480 local analog I/Os. It has a program scan time per keyword of 1 millisecond. The 1747-L532 has a backplane current of 500 mA at 5 Volts DC and of 175 mA at 24 Volts DC. It has a maximum of 2 local I/O chassis with a maximum of 30 module I/O slots in a local I/O chassis.

For communication, it uses DH-485 and RS-232 ports that can be configured for connection to a 1761-NET-AIC converter. It has standard battery-backed RAM and Flash backup memory. With this processor, the remote I/O scanner module and DeviceNet scanner module can be installed to configure I/O via a universal remote link or a DeviceNet network. These instructions include Bit, Timer, Controller, Comparison, Basic Math, Move, Copy, and Bit Shift, Sequencer, Jump and Subroutine, Messaging, STI, FIFO/LIFO, PID, Advanced Math and Trig instructions.

The integrated communication port of this controller is a single RS232 port that can be configured as DF1 or DH485, both for peer-to-peer applications. The default configuration of the RS232 is DF1 Full-duplex, handshaking disabled, communication rate of 19.2Kbaud, CRC Error check, duplicate packet detects on and parity set to none. It may also be auto-detected in the RSLinx communication tool through the auto-config driver mode. The default settings of Channel 1 DH485 port are 19.2 Kbaud and node address = 1.

The integrated memory of this SLC 5/03 processor is 16KB. This controller supports burning of program to a back-up memory to allow automatic loading of user program upon power cycle. This prevents unwanted deletion of PLC program when the integrate 1747-BA is drained. This Battery is provided with a LED indicator to indicate the state of the battery’s power.
