Information About 1756-EN2F
The Allen-Bradley 1756-EN2F is a ControlLogix communication module. This module is used to enable Remote I/O connection, capable of acting as a communication adapter and scanner; permits data exchange between controller and visualization systems such as Human Machine Interface (HMI) or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and bridge ethernet networks to link messages from different ethernet nodes.
The 1756-EN2F features a single Ethernet port that uses fiber connection. Physical connection can be established using a Multimode fiber cable with LC connector. The module’s fiber port supports 10/100 Mbps transmission speed.
The 1756-EN2F is a single slow width module that is compatible for installation to any slot of 1756-A4, 1756-A7, 1756-A10, 1756-A13, and 1756-A17 ControlLogix chassis. It is also compatible for use with standard power supplies such as 1756-PA72, 1756-PA75, 1756-PB72, 1756-PB75, 1756-PC75, and 1756-PH75. It may also be installed with redundant power supplies such as 1756-PA75R, 1756-PB75R, and 1756-PSCA2.
The 1756-EN2F supports up to 128 TCP connections, 256 CIP connections and 128 + 128 CIP Unconnected Messages TCP (backplane + Ethernet). Additionally, it supports Socket services and SNMP. This module is also capable of duplicate IP detection.
The 1756-EN2F has a current draw of 1.2 Ampere of 5.1VDC and 3 mA at 24VDC with power dissipation of 6.2 Watts and Thermal dissipation 21.28 BTU/hr.
The 1756-EN2F bridge also has a CIP safety standard for allowing simultaneous transfer of safety and control data and diagnostics information. It uses advanced communication chips and physical media. The 1756-EN2F Module has 100 Mbps EtherNet/IP communication rates and uses fiber. It supports 256 Logix and 128 TCP/IP communication connections. It can support a maximum of 8 axes for integrated motion on the Ethernet/IP Network. It draws 1.2 A current at 5.1V DC and 3 mA at 24V DC. It has a maximum power dissipation of 6.2 W and thermal dissipation of 21.28 BTU/hr. It can be installed in any ControlLogix Chassis slot. For wiring, it uses unshielded RJ45, category 5, twisted-pair cable connectors to interface with the controller. To operate EtherNet/IP network parameters such as IP address, Subnet masks, Gateway etc. must be defined. The 1756-EN2F bridge has various functions like providing support for messaging, distributed I/O, and tags. It encapsulates messages within standard TCP/IP protocol.
