Information About 1756-ENBT
The Allen-Bradley 1756-ENBT ControlLogix Ethernet/IP Bridge Module is a copper communication module used to transfer large volumes of data using an Ethernet connection. This module can handle 64 TCP and 128 CIP connections with a communication rate of 10 / 100 Mbps. This module supports high-speed processor interlocking, control distributed I/O, and route to devices on a different NetLinx network, using the Ethernet/IP network as a backbone. These capabilities allow users to control, configure, and collect data in just one Ethernet/IP network. In turn, this allows the users to cut back on maintenance and support costs and then simplify their network architecture because fewer networks may then be required to run their application.
The 1756-ENBT is web-enabled. The module’s settings and internal diagnostics such as IP traffic, TCP, UDP, collision histogram, connection management, etc. through a standard web browser. The users can also get information about the module revision, IP, subnet, gateway, and Ethernet address, module uptime, vendor, code information, diagnostic information, name server, boot status, 1756-L1 processor mode information, and network storm information. The current draw of the 1756-ENBT module at 5.1 Volts DC is 700 milliamps. On the other hand, it has a current draw of 3 milliamps for 24 Volts DC. The power dissipation for the 1756-ENBT is at 3.7 Watts and thermal dissipation is at 12.6 BTU/hour. It can also act as a Remote I/O Adapter when placed in a remote I/O chassis. This allows the users to collect and configure data, as well as to remotely control ControlLogix modules, particularly input, output, analog, or specialty modules. Note that the 1756-ENBT does not have rotary switches. The 1756-ENBT is also backwards compatible.
The 1756-ENBtT supports Ethernet I/P protocol. It is capable of connecting to 10/100 Mbps communication network with auto-negotiating function. It has a Single RJ45 communication port and a USB 1.1 configuration port.
This module is one of the earlier Ethernet modules intended for the ControlLogix automation platform. It features maximum TCP connections of 64 and 128 Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) connections. This allows simultaneous communication to different devices without the need of a multiplexer device. Up to 5000 I/O packets/sec can be and 900 HMI/MSG packets/sec can be transacted with this device. This module occupies a single slot in the chassis and may also be used in stand-alone applications. Only linear topology can be implemented with this device as it is embedded with a single Ethernet communication port.
