The Allen-Bradley 1756-L61S processor is part of the ControlLogix and GuardLogix series. This processor comes with 2 MB of standard memory and with 1 MB of safety memory. The 1756-L61S ControlLogix and GuardLogix processor can be used as part of an Allen-Bradley 1756 control system or an Allen-Bradley 1768 control system. It supports DeviceNet, ControlNet, and EtherNet/IP communication. The 1756-L61S ControlLogix and GuardLogix processor does not support controller redundancy and it does not have an enclosure, but it has an I/O memory capacity of 478 KB.

The Allen-Bradley 1756-L61S ControlLogix controller module offers a scalable controller key that can handle many I/O points. You can set the ControlLogix controller into several slots of the ControlLogix I/O chassis and install numerous controllers in similar chassis. ControlLogix controllers are also capable of monitoring and controlling I/O across the ControlLogix backplane and above the network links. The ControlLogix 1756-L61S controllers have a rooted Ethernet port for direct connectivity to Ethernet-equipped devices as well as networks and they support communication interface modules in the local chassis.

To provide communication for ControlLogix 1756-L61S controllers, you need to install the suitable communication interface module in the local chassis. The ControlLogix 1756-L61S controller comes with a conformal coating. A conformal coating is nothing other than a fine coating with polymer sheets that provide a fine secured layer of protection against contaminants and pollutants as well as humidity and this will lead to the congregation and extension of the product life in harsh and corrosive environments.

The device features an I/O memory of 478 KB and a maximum user memory of 2 MB. The current drawing capacity of this device at 5.1V DC is around 1200 milliamperes and at 24V DC, it is around 14 milliamperes. The power dissipation rate of the model is 3.5 Watts, with a thermal dissipation of 11.9BTU per hour. It has a 30V continuous isolation voltage and the enclosure in this model is open-style.
