Information About 1756-L82E
The Allen-Bradley 1756-L82E is a ControlLogix 5580 controller. This controller is part of the most modern ControlLogix product line, especially designed to meet today’s industrial requirement with regards to integration and connectivity.
The 1756-L82E comes with an embedded Ethernet I/P communication port, supporting fast and gigabit ethernet speeds specifically, 10/100 Mbps and 1 Gbps transmission rate. This communication port is ideal for connection with linear plant ethernet network. Additionally, it allows rapid deployment as the Ethernet supports use of commercially available ethernet network components as well as industrial grade components for increased reliability. The Ethernet port may be used for all types of communication purposes such as programming, communication with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems as well as communication with remote I/O and controllers within the same network. Additionally, the 1756-L82E comes with 1 USB communication port that is designed for standard communication purposes except industrial communication and data exchange.
The 1756-L82E comes with 5MB user memory and ships with a 1784-SD2 that holds 2GB non-volatile user memory. This controller supports up to 128,000 Discrete I/O, 4000 Analog I/O. It does not require use of batteries to retain data within the controller’s Random Access Memory (RAM) as this controller is equipped with a more environmentally friendly energy storage module that is composed of capacitors, however, this energy storage cannot be replace and removed from the controller.
Similar to other ControlLogix controller, the 1756-L82E is a chassis based module that is compatible with 1756-A4, 1756-A4K, 1756-A7, 1756-A7K, 1756-A10, 1756-A10K, 1756-A13, 1756-A13K,1756-A17, 1756-A17 K Series B, Series C ControlLogix chassis.
The 1756-L82E has a controller-fitted energy storage module which eliminates the need for an external battery and draws 5mA current from the backplane at 1.2V DC and draws 1.2mA at 5.1V DC. A 50V circuit isolation is provided from USB port-to-Ethernet port, USB port-to-backplane, and Ethernet port-to-backplane, using a basic insulation tested at 1000V AC for 60 seconds. The 1756-L82E can support a maximum of 128,000 Digital I/O, and 4000 Analog I/O. When operational, it dissipates 6.2W of heat and has a maximum 21.2 BTU/hr thermal dissipation. Communication on the 1756-L82E is achieved via the built-in USB 2.0 port and the controller embedded Ethernet port. It has a 1 GB Ethernet port that supports high-speed communication, and integrated motion control, and can support a maximum of 175 nodes. The 1756-L82E has a functional temperature range between 0 °C and 60 °C (32 °F and 140 °F) at 5-95% non-condensing humidity and has a non-operational temperature between -40 and 85 °C (-40 and 185 °F). The 1756-L82E has an operational shock rating of 30G and can maintain function at an operating vibration of 2G at 10-500Hz.
