Product Description P/N: 1756-RMC3
Description
The 1756-RMC3 connector cable is a redundancy module connector cable from Allen-Bradley. It is manufactured as part of the Allen-Bradley ControlLogix product line to be used as a connector cable for the ControlLogix redundancy modules. The 1756-RMC3 redundancy module connector cable is a medium-length cable; it is 3 meters long. This connector cable is compatible with the Allen-Bradley 1756-RM2, 1756-RM2K, and 1756-RM2XT redundancy module. The 1756-RMC3 redundancy module connector cable can be used in environments with ambient temperatures as high as 158 degrees Fahrenheit as long as there is no moisture or condensation.

Information About 1756-RMC3
The Allen-Bradley 1756-RMC3 is an essential component in the assembly of a ControlLogix Redundant Programmable Controller System. This fiber-optic communication cable serves as a connector for ControlLogix redundancy modules once the chassis pairs and their components are installed. It is part of the Bulletin 1756-RMCx Cables that come in different lengths. These redundancy cables are not packaged with modules and should be ordered separately before starting to build the controller system.
The 1756-RMC3 Redundancy Module Cable works with both the standard and the extreme-environment models of the ControlLogix Redundancy Modules. It is 3 meters or 9.84 feet in length and is shipped with protective caps. The cable is connected to the bottom of the module and positioned downward. Because it is composed of optical fibers, sharp bends in the cable should be avoided. An LC connector coupler can be placed between the transmitting and receiving connectors. This helps prevent the cable from bending and makes connection and disconnection quick and easy.
Install the 1756-RMC3 Fiber-optic Connector in a strategic way to protect it from being damaged, cut, run over, and abraded. Redundant cabling can tolerate faults happening on a single channel. But a problem on both channels can cause unpredictable network operation. Route trunk cables separately to reduce the risk of having both damaged at the same time. With a redundant fiber cable system, the network is used by the system when a cable is degraded or failure occurs.
