The Allen-Bradley 1762-L24BXBR is a MicroLogix 1200 controller. This controller is a 24-point controller with dedicated programming port and communication interface. This controller has a compact design with provision for expansion by means of installation up to Six (6) 1762 expansion I/O of various types.
The 1762-L24BXBR supports DIN rail of panel mounting. Panel mounting provides more susceptibility to vibration compared to DIN rail mounting. The compact assembly of this this Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) contributes to space saving design and only requires installation clearance of 500 mm or 2 inches on all sides of the controller.
The 1762-L24BXBR has a variety of embedded I/O channels such as Ten (10) 24VDC sink / source inputs, Four (4) fast 24VDC inputs, Five (5) relay, Four (4) 24VDC FET and One (1) High-speed 24VDC FET outputs. Input channels 0-3 accepts input signal frequency of 0-20 kHz while inputs 4 and higher accepts input signal frequency of 0Hz to 1 kHz which is scan time dependent. Aside from the embedded discrete input channels, the 1762-L24BXBR has Two (2) Trim Potentiometers that may be used to manipulate internal registers as well implement local control.
The 1762-L24BXBR has Two (2) communication interface available. It has One (1) dedicated programming port that is located on the side of the controller while the primary communication port is located on the controller’s front panel. Both these communication ports have a physical interface of 8-pin mini-DIN circular connector. The primary port support communication with visualization devices as well as connecting online with the controller for performing download, upload, online and commissioning of the device.
The 1762-L24BXBR programmable controller unit contains a real-time clock which allows for scheduling the control activities. The control unit offers extended flexibility with 24 or 40 I/O points. The input points support either 120 Volts AC or 24 Volts DC (sink or resource). On the other hand, the outputs are relay contact or FET. At the same time, in up to 6 digital or analog modules, you can add as many as 96 I/O. It is also powered by a wide range of high-functionality communication options.
