The Allen-Bradley 1762-L40AWA controller is a MicroLogix 1200 series programmable controller. Its input voltage rating is 120/240 Volts AC. The 1762-L40AWA programmable controller has 16 relay outputs and 24 inputs, for a total of 40 input and output channels. The 24 input channels have a voltage rating of 120 Volts AC. The 1762-L40AWA programmable controller is one of the bigger MicroLogix 1200 controllers with dimensions of 90 x 160 x 87 millimeters and it weighs about 2.4 pounds.

The 1762-L40AWA is a MicroLogix 1200 controller. This is an Allen-Bradly Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) that is designed with embedded input and output channels as well as communication and programming port.

The 1762-L40AWA is also provided with Two (2) Trim Potentiometers that may be used for simulating internal registers or as local control of process variables. These trim potentiometers are located on the controller’s front panel that may be adjusted using a precision screw driver.

The 1762-L40AWA has One (1) communication port in the form of 8 pin mini-DIN physical interface. This communication port supports DF1, serial DH485, ASCII and MODBUS Master / Slave protocol. This port may be used to download and upload user program, interface with Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.

The 1762-L40AWA is powered by supplying an external 100-240VAC supply voltage with frequency of 47-63 Hz. It can withstand an inrush current of 25 A for 8 ms @ 120 VAC and 40 A for 4 ms @ 240 VAC. It has a power supply usage of 80 VA.

The 1762-L40AWA has two input specifications, one is for inputs 0 through 3 and the other is for inputs 4 and above. The minimum off-state leakage current in this module is 1.5 mA. The off-state voltage range is 0 to 5 Volts DC and the on-state voltage range of this module is 14 to 24 Volts DC for inputs 0 through 3. For inputs 4 and above, the on-state voltage range is 10 to 24 Volts DC. The 1762-L40AWA can control a load of up to 1440 VA. The current per group common of this module is 8 Amps. Make sure that the output of the 1762-L40AWA will not exceed the current per group common rating because it may damage this module or other equipment connected to it.
