Information About 1764-28BXB
The Allen-Bradley 1764-28BXB base is a part of the Allen-Bradley Bulletin 1764 product category. This part number is a MicroLogix 1500 base unit series that features embedded I/O and accommodates a processor. It is an essential component in the system assembly of Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1500 programmable controllers. In addition to the embedded inputs and outputs, the 1764-28BXB base unit houses the power supply and the communication port. It also serves as an interface to the expansion I/O as required by a system application. The 1764-28BXB 24 Volt DC Base Unit has 30 Watts of power consumption, 16 Watts of maximum load power, and 400 mA of maximum load current. It comes with Six (6) relay outputs and Two (2) isolated relays per unit. It has Eight (8) standard and Eight (8) fast 24 Volts DC inputs. The 1764-28BXB’s high-speed 20 kHz I/O is composed of Eight (8) inputs and Two (2) outputs. Additionally, it has Four (4) standard FET outputs and Two (2) fast FET outputs. The FET transistor is only available on this base unit.
The Allen-Bradley 1764-28BXB Base is a required piece of hardware that allows an assembled Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1500 controller system to support the maximum number of I/O expansions. It has a width of 168 millimeters (6.62 inches) and a depth of 87 millimeters (3.43 inches). Its height is 138 millimeters (5.43 inches) when the DIN rail latch is open, and its height is 118 millimeters (4.65 inches) when it is closed. The 1764-28BXB is designed to be mounted horizontally on the compact expansion I/O. This unit is compatible with the Allen-Bradley 1764-LRP and 1764-LSP processors. The Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1500 fault codes can be found in the product manual.
The Allen-Bradley 1764-28BXB is a MicroLogix 1500 base unit. This base unit is integrated with the most advanced features having Eight (8) Standard 24VDC sink/source discrete inputs, Eight (8) High-Speed inputs and Six (6) Relay Outputs, Four (4) Standard 24VDC outputs and Two (2) Fast 24VDc outputs. This integrated I/Os, especially High-Speed or Fast inputs are important channels which allows the base unit, along with the controller attached, to be used with counter and totalizing applications.
This base unit will not function without a 1764-LSP and 1764-LRP, which are MicroLogix processors. These processors are attached to the base units to provide the intelligence that will be used in logic execution. For local programming and access of data within the controller, a 1764-DAT or Data Access Tool may be attached along the base unit.
The base unit also supports installation of other modules such as Real-Time clock and Memory module. It may also be installed with Compact I/O modules for expansion of the integrated features.
The base unit also features an integrated serial communication port which has a default configuration of 19.2K Baud Rate, No Parity, Node Address Set to 1, No handshaking, CRC Error Detection, Auto-detect embedded responses, Duplicate Packet (Message) Detect enabled, ACK Timeout of 50 counts, NAK retries set to 3 Retries, ENQ set to 3 Retries and Stop Bits set to 1. This communication port may be used to communicate directly to a programming workstation or a 1761-NET-AIC to allow communication over a network.
