The Allen-Bradley 1769-IF4XOF2 is a Compact I/O module that feature embedded channels with combination analog input and output interfaces. This module is compatible for use as analog input modules with Allen Bradley’s MicroLogix 1500 and 1769 CompactLogix family of controllers.
The 1769-IF4XOF2 is a cost effective with low resolution conversion. It is ideal for interfacing process variables that does not require high-level of criticality or high-accuracy measurements. This module features an embedded Four (4) analog input channels, configurable for single ended or differential input wiring. The input channel accepts +10V dc or 0 to 20 mA signal types while the output provides analog signals in the form of Voltage with range of 0 to 10V dc and Current with 0 to 20 mA range. Input and output full ranges are 0 to 10.5V dc and 0 to 21 mA.
The input circuitry has an integral Analog to Digital (ADC) via Successive Approximation method. It has a resolution of 8-Bit. This circuit converts the reference input to binary signals which is saved ot an 8-Bit register or Byte. This data is termed as raw data and requires signal processing and conditioning such as Scaling to convert to engineering value to represent the actual process variable. This data is made available to the CPU for retrieval cyclically or through a program trigger.
The number of instances of 1769-IF4XOF2 depends on the 1769 CompactLogix and MicroLogix 1500 controller used. The supported number of modules may be maximized with the use of the same module or any combination however, the power supply distance rating must be observed. For CompactLogix, any instance of the module should be not be more than 8 modules away from the power supply.
