Information About 1769-L18ERM-BB1B
The Allen-Bradley 1769-L18ERM-BB1B is a CompactLogix Controller that is part of the 5370 L1 Series. This controller is a DIN rail, compact and scalable Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) as it comes with embedded I/O channels and supports installation of expansion I/Os.
It is provided with Sixteen (16) 24VDC Discrete input channels and Sixteen (16) 24VDC Discrete Output Channels and supports installation of up to Eight (8) Point I/O modules from the 1734 product family. It also comes with 512KB user memory and 1GB non-volatile memory. Only the non-volatile memory is replaceable as it is a removable 1784-SD1 Secure Digital (SD) card. Appropriate replacement is 1784-SD2.
The onboard communication ports of the 1769-L18ERM-BB1B are Two (2) Ethernet ports and One (1) USB ports. Ethernet ports support 10/100 Mbps communication speed while the USB port supports up to 12mbops transmission rate. The Ethernet ports supports Linear, Traditional Star and Device Level Ring (DLR) topologies.
The 1769-L18ERM-BB1B comes with inherent support for motion control over Ethernet I/P as it may be configured to control up to Two (2) motion axes without having to install a dedicated motion control module.
It is ideal for small to mid-sized applications requiring low Point I/O and axis motion counts. It has an open socket that allows for the use of Modbus TCP and other devices like barcode readers, printers, and servers. It provides Kinematics functions for simple and articulated robotics. The 1769-L18ERM-BB1B programmable automation controller can support up to 2 CIP motion position loop axes of integrated motion over an Ethernet/IP network for maximum scalability. The embedded I/O module of the Allen-Bradley 1769-L18ERM-BB1B programmable automation controller comes with 16 sinking digital input points and 16 sourcing digital output points. It also has the capacity to support a local expansion of up to 8 modules on the Allen-Bradley 1734 backplane and 96 I/O points. When using local expansion options, the additional modules must be installed to the right of the DIN rail-mounted 1769-L18ERM-BB1B controller within the same system. The total current draw of the embedded I/O and the local expansion modules should not exceed the available POINTBus ratings of 1 Amp of backplane current and 3 Amps of field power current. The 24 Volts DC 1769-L18ERM-BB1B programmable automation controller comes with an integrated switch that allows for direct connection with the Device Level Ring (DLR) network topology without using a tap device. The use of Device Level Ring (DLR) connectivity increases network resiliency. This makes the replacement of individual devices possible without compromising production.
