Information About 1769-L36ERMS

The 1769-L36ERMS is an Allen-Bradley Compact GuardLogix controller of the 5370 GuardLogix controller platform. This controller is capable of performing the standard capabilities of a Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) while also support implementation of motion control over Ethernet I/P and integrated safety. This controller is suitable for use in applications requiring safety certifications of Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 3 and Performance Level (PL)e. This controller

This controller comes with an on-board 3MB standard memory and 1.5MB safety memory. This integrated memories may be expanded with the use of Secure Digital (SD) cards such as 1784-SD1 with 1GB non-volatile memory and 1784-SD2 with 2GB non-volatile memory. Asside from memory expansion, the SD card may also be used to configure the controller’s IP address.

The 1769-L36ERMS also has built-in communication interfaces such as dual Ethernet communication port, supporting transmission speed of 10/100 mbps and Linear, Star and Device Level Ring (DLR) topologies. It uses commercially available Cat5 cable or higher specification, depending on the installation are of the controller and the network. Similar to standard controllers, this Compact GuardLogix controller is capable of communicating with Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), and other controllers connected in the same network for messaging purposes.

The 1769-L30ERMS GuardLogix controller is compatible for use with standard CompactLogix I/O modules. It is also provided with Two (2) Ethernet communication interface supporting Device Level Ring (DLR), Linear and Star topology. Additionally, it supports Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) safety protocol and socket interface for use with devices not compatible with Ethernet I/P application protocol.

The dual ethernet communication ports supports communication of up to 48 Ethernet nodes while also supporting up to Thirty (30) local I/O modules. It is programmable using the IEC-61131-3 programming languages such as Relay ladder, Structured Text, Function block and Sequential Function Chart (SFC).

Additionally, the controller has a rated operating shock of 20 G when it is mounted on a DIN rail and one of 30 G when mounted on a panel. However, when it is not in operation, the 1769-L36ERMS controller accommodates a shock rating of 30 G when it is mounted on a DIN rail and the rating is 40 G when it is mounted on a panel. For its electrostatic discharge immunity, the controller supports 6 kiloVolts of contact discharges and 8 kiloVolts of air discharges.

The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1769-L36ERMS controller has an EFT/B immunity rating of +/- 3 kiloVolts at 5 kiloHertz on the communication ports and +/- 4 kiloVolts at a frequency of 5 kiloHertz on protective earth. For the surge transient immunity, the 1769-L36ERMS controller has a rating of +/- 2 kiloVolts line-earth on the communication ports. The 1769-L36ERMS controller, like other CompactLogix 5370 controllers, provides a scalable controller that enables it to be connected with a wide range of industrial applications. As a standard feature, controllers in the CompactLogix 5370 family, including the 1769-L36ERMS controller, have a single USB port and 2 Ethernet ports. Additionally, they have support for local expansion modules and the control of distributed and local I/O modules.
