Each output channel exhibits signal transition of delay of 1.0 ms for ON transition and 2.0 ms for OFF transition. It has a current draw of 160 mA and provides output current of 0.5 A @ 60 °C (140 °F) or 1.0 A @ 30 °C (86 °F) per channel and 4.0 A @ 60 °C (140 °F) or 8.0 A @ 30 °C (86 °F) per module. It has a Surge current rating of 2.0 A for 10 ms that is repeatable every 1 s.

The 1769-OB16P protection is provided with a 1769-RTB18 Removable Terminal Block (RTB), 1769-RL1 Door label and a 1769-RD Door. This can be separately ordered via individual kits. The power supply distance rating of the 1769-OB16P is Eight (8) module which refers to the location of the module with reference to the power supply. It must not be installed more than the power supply distance rating to maintain a valid CompactLogix configuration. Additional power supply modules such as the 1769-PA2, 1769-PB2, 1769-PA4, 1769-PB4 may be used and installed along the CompactLogix assembly to power modules beyond the capability of the primary power supply.
