Information About 1771-IGD
The Allen-Bradley 1771-IGD is a digital I/O module. This module has sixteen 5V DC TTL current sourcing input points available. The customer supply voltage of this module is 5V DC with +/-0.25V Class 2 and it comes with a maximum peak-to-peak ripple of 50 mV. The input voltage ratings of this module when HIGH = TRUE is 2-5.25V DC for ON and -0.2-0.8V DC for OFF and when LOW = TRUE, it is -0.2-0.8C DC for ON and 2-5.25V DC for OFF. The current sink requirements of this module are a maximum of 7 mA for source per input and a maximum of 0.8 mA for sink per input. The 1771-IGD module's backplane current is a maximum of 130 mA and current rating is 380 mA per module. The isolation voltage is 1500V AC RMS for 1 second. This module has less than 1 ms of input signal delay a power dissipation that ranges from a minimum of 0.4 W to a maximum of 2.7 W and a thermal dissipation that has a minimum of 1.4 BTU/hr. and a maximum of 9.2 BTU/hr. It comes with a 0.5 A 250V normal blow fuse to protect the 5V DC power supply and the input terminal of the module from power surges and other accidental applications of voltage that can cause damage. The 1771-IGD’s operating temperature ranges from 0-60 Deg. Celsius.
The Allen-Bradley 1771-IGD is a TTL input module from the 1771 Product bulleting. This module supports selectable logic states. By default, it is set at positive logic level which detect Logic 1 or On signal state at voltage range of 2.0 - 5.25 Volts DC and Off signal state of -0.2 to 0.8 Volts DC. To set the module to negative-level logic, the jumper setting must be set towards the front of the module. At negative logic-level, the module’s On state voltage range is reversed, -0.2 to 0.8 Volts DC and 2.0 - 5.25 Volts DC for Off-state.
This module is compatible for use with Series A or B 1771-A1B, 1771-A2B, 1771-A3B, 1771-A3B1, and 1771-A4B chassis as well as 1771-AM1 or 1717-AM2 I/O chassis. For termination of signals, it requires use of 1771-WH wiring arm. Appropriate wire sizes for signal wiring is 14 American Wire Gauge (AWG) stranded copper wire with insulation rating of 60 degrees Celsius and maximum insulation thickness of 3/64 or 1.2 millimeters. Recommended cable for use is the Belden 8761 or any equivalent cable. Torque applied to each terminal to tighten connection must be equivalent to 9 lb-inch or 1.0 Newton-meter.
This module has an input signal delay of less than 1 millisecond. It has a maximum power dissipation of 2.7 Watts and minimum power dissipation of 0.4 Watts while the module’s thermal dissipation is 9.2 British Thermal Units (BTU) per hour (maximum) and 1.4 BTU/hour (minimum). It has a backplane voltage and current draw of 130 mA, maximum @ 5 Volts DC. This module has 18 LED status indicators, positive logic indicator and module active indicator for quick reference of module’s operational state.
