The Allen-Bradley 1771-OAD module is a 12 to120 Volts AC output module. This module uses zero-crossing technology, which allows it to turn on when the output voltage is less than the specified voltage, usually at 40 to 50 Volts AC. It also greatly reduces pressure on contacts and other devices which may be sensitive to the current surge. The 1771-OAD module is compatible with some Allen-Bradley chassis, excluding the 1771-A1, 1771-A2, and the 1771-A4. The output range of this module is from 10 to 138 Volts AC at a frequency of 47 to 63 Hertz, and its output current rating is 2 Amps. The minimum load current of this module is 5 mA, the maximum OFF state leakage current is 3.0 mA at 138 Volts AC. The power dissipation of this module is 13 Watts maximum and 1.5 Watts minimum. Its thermal dissipation is 48.0 BTU/hour at maximum and 5.13 BTU/hour at minimum.

When using the Allen-Bradley 1771-OAD module with a device that includes a single diode that is in a series with the load, place the shunt resistor (39 KOhm, 1 Watt) throughout the charge. This resistor enables proper output operation. The shunt resistor can cause the LED indicator to light up when the output is switched off. If this happens, use an incandescent lamp in place of the LED. The 1771-OAD module receives power that is supplied through an Allen-Bradley 1771 I/O chassis backplane from the chassis power supply. It requires 295 mA of this supply output current. Add this to the requirements of all the other modules on the I/O chassis to prevent overloading the backplane chassis and/or the power supply casing.

The Allen-Bradley 1771-OAD is a discrete output module that operates at voltage category of 10-120VAC. This module is compatible for selected 1771 chassis such as 1771-A1B through -A4B or later I/O chassis, 1771-AM1, -AM2 chassis. This module is compatible for use with PLC5 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) system.

This module has Sixteen (16) discrete input channels that operate at AC voltage range of 10 to 138V ac with 47 - 63Hz. This module is not compatible with 1771 chassis such as 1771-A1, 1771-A2 and 1771-A4. Additionally, it cannot be used with another output module or single card block transfer module within the same group when using 2-Slot addressing.

Power Requirements of this module include a backplane current requirement of 295 mA. His backplane current information must be added along the backplane current requirement of other modules. This is to ensure proper power supply sizing.

This module uses a wiring arm with part number 1771-WH. Wiring arms are standard components of all I/O modules as this components provides convenient wiring method and provides modularity and prevents re-wiring operation in the event of module replacement.

Individual status indicators are provided with the module. Each channels has a dedicated LED light that energizes when the module is active. This LED indicator provides a visual tool for troubleshooting. Additionally, an Active and Fuse indicator is also provide to display the module’s operation status and fuse indicator.
