Product Description P/N: 1771-OGD
Description
The 1771-OGD output module is a PLC 5 series TTL output module from Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. It needs 2 power sources in order to operate, and these power sources are the I/O chassis backplane that it is installed in and a 5 Volts DC rated external power supply that allows the module to transmit TTL signals. The 1771-OGD TTL output module can operate with TTL input devices as long as it has an external power supply. This module should be protected from ESD or electrostatic discharge which can damage it or degrade its performance. The 1771-OGD TTL output module can support a 0.5 Amps and 250 Volts rated normal blow fuse.

Information About 1771-OGD
The 1771-OGD PLC 5 Digital DC TTL Output Module by Allen-Bradley is an output module with 16 Transistor-Transistor Logic (TTL) outputs and is installed in a single slot of the 1771 I/O chassis series B and it also comes with a Logic Switch for selecting the Logic Operations between “High = True”, and “Low = True” Logic. The module’s output rating is 2-5.25V DC, and -0.2-0.8V DC (High = True) for both ON and OFF state and it has a maximum output sourcing current of 1mA, with 20mA (sinking). An additional customer supply power with a voltage rating of 5V DC (+0.25V) with less than 50mV peak-to-peak ripple is required for transmission of Transistor-Transistor Logic Signals and the module also requires 310mA (max) current from the output of the customer supplied power source.
The 1771-OGD has a less-than-1mS output maximum signal delay time, and it dissipates 9.5 BTU/hr (max.) heat with 2.8 Watts (max.) power dissipation. It draws a backplane current of 230mA (max) and provides 1500V AC (RMS) voltage isolation. The module requires a Field Wiring Arm with a Wiring Screw Torque of 7-9 inch-pounds, and its outputs are fused with a 0.5A, 250V Normal Blow fuse. The 1771-OGD’s output circuitry uses a standard 14-gauge (2mm2) stranded Shielded (Belden 8761) wire size with a 3/64 inch (1.2mm) thick insulation, and keying of the module to the I/O backplane is achieved by connecting the connector band between pins 16 and 18, and between pins 26 and 28 of the I/O backplane top connector. The 1771-OGD has a working temperature range between 0 and 60 0C (32 and 140 0F) within 5-95% non-condensing humidity, and the module is CSA, CE, and UL-certified.
