Information About 1771-P4S
The Allen-Bradley 1771-P4S is a PLC 5 automation platform power supply. This module is a single-slot module that is used to deliver power to the backplane which is used by any Allen-Bradley 1771 modules to operate their individual circuitries.
The 1771-P4S is compatible for use with 1771-A1B, 1771-A2B, 1771-A3B, and 1771-A4B Universal I/O Chassis. It operates when provided with an input supply range of 92-132VAC along an input frequency range of 47-63 Hz while the module’s nominal input supply voltage is 120VAC. This power supply module is capable of providing an output voltage of 5VDC and output current of 8 Amperes. This module supports operation along another Power supply connected in parallel using the Parallel cable connector. This connection increases the power being delivered to the backplane, enabling more modules to be operated without the need of partitioning to another rack.
The 1771-P4S comes with a replaceable fuse. The built-in fuse is a 1.5A, 250V Slow-blow which can be replaced by an approved equivalent. This module weighs 1.85 lbs (0.84 kg) and uses the 5-position terminal block with catalog number Allen-Bradley P/N 941274-05, Wago 1 P/N 231-205/000-008. The terminal block is provided with each power supply module.
When terminating signal wires to the power supply, Allen-Bradley recommends use of a 14 American Wire Gauge (AWG) single or solid wire only.
The 1771-P4S power supply module’s operating temperature is 0 to 60°C (32 to 140 °F), storage temperature of -40 to 85° C (-40 to 185 °F) and relative humidity of 5-95%, non-condensing.
The module has a voltage range of 97 to 132 Volts AC with a real input power rating of 59 W and apparent power of 89 VA at a 50 to 60 Hertz line frequency. It offers an output voltage of 5.06 Volts DC and it supplies 8 Amps of maximum current at 5 Volts DC and it may be used with an optional 150 Amps recommended transformer. The 1771-P4S has circuit voltage isolation tested for 1 second at 2160 Volts DC and it offers 15 Amps of branch circuit protection and the module is fused with a 125 Volts, 5 Amps slow-blow fuse, a Bussman MDX 1. 5 fuse, or a Littel 313001. 5 fuse. The 1771-P4S dissipates 4 Watts maximum heat at 2 Amps, 17 Watts maximum heat at 8 Amps when operational, and 10 Watts maximum heat from an adjacent slot. The module has a power loss delay period of 13. 6 milliseconds (+/-3. 6 milliseconds) and the module's circuitry is adapted to a 14 AWG copper wire size with 3/64-inch maximum insulation. It can be keyed properly on the chassis by connecting the connection bands between pins 12 and 14, and pins 20 and 22 of the backplane top connector. The 1771-P4S has an operational temperature range between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius at a 5 to 95% non-condensing humidity rating and it is UL and CSA-certified. The module weighs about 1.04 kilograms (2. 3 pounds) and is built in an open enclosure.
