Information About 1771-QB
The 1771-QB is an Allen-Bradley Linear positioning module compatible for use with the 1771 Programmable Logic Controller Platform. This module features Two (2) independent axes that may be used to integrate machine control capabilities related to motion control as well as provide the PLC a hydraulic performance.
The 1771-QB has an update rate of 2 miliseconds. It is also capable of implementing Proportional + Integral + Derivate (PID) and Feed-forward control algorithm. This module supports velocities up to 327.67 inches or (3.2767 meters/ second).
The module’s Transducer interface allows direct connections to Temposonics II, or Balluff Linear Displacement Transducers or Norstat transducers. The maximum supported length is 180 inches or 4.572 meters and resolution of +/- 0.002 inches over 180 inches. For higher resolution applications, recirculation may be applied.
The module may also be used for direct connection to servo-controlled valves or servo motor controllers with resolution of 12-bit and output range of +/- 1.0 to +/- 100mA and +/- 0.1 to +/- 10 Volts.
It has Seven (7) discrete input per axis which includes Hardware Start, Jog Forward, Jog Reverse, Hardware Stop, Auto/Manual Selector, and Two (2) user defined General Purpose Inputs. It also has 2 digital outputs per axis which includes In-position and Loop Fault outputs.
The module is also capable of monitoring functions such as Position, Velocity, Servo valve output, Positioning error, and Hydraulic system performance. This module requires single slot of the 1771 backplane and may installed in 1771 Universal I/O chassis. It is also built with internal module diagnostics.
This module can control the servo or proportional hydraulic valve or some electrical servos. The position is measured by a linear displacement transducer. This module is also used to control and monitor the linear position of a tool or workpiece along one or two axes. The servo valve can control the flow of the hydraulic fluid into or out of the hydraulic cylinder. The operating temperature of the 1771-QB is from -25-60 deg. C (-13-140 deg. F). The nonoperating temperature of this module is from -40-85 deg. C (-40-185 deg. F). The relative humidity of this module is from 5-95% without condensation. The operating vibration of this module is 2 g at 10-500 Hz. The operating shock of this module is 30 g and the nonoperating shock of this module is 30 g.
Before installing or removing your modules, always disconnect the 1771-QB from the system and from other power sources to the module, and disconnect all devices connected to the module. Failure to comply with these precautions may result in undesirable operation and destruction of equipment. The Allen-Bradley 1771-QB is tested to meet Directive 73/23/EEC of the Low Voltage Directive Board, by applying the security requirements EN 61131-2 Programmable Controllers, Part 2 - Equipment Requirements and Testing. The 1771-QB is suitable for use in Class I, Division 2, Group A, B, C, D, or non-hazardous locations only.
