Information About 1783-BMS06SA
The 1783-BMS06SA switch is a 6-port switch in the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation Stratix 5700 product line in the larger Stratix series of industrial switches. The primary purpose of the 1783-BMS06SA 6-port Stratix switch is to allow users to power machines on and off or make adjustments to a machine’s speed safely in harsh or hazardous industrial locations. This switch and other Stratix switches can be used to create a switching infrastructure that remains secure even in harsh operating conditions. The 1783-BMS06SA switch can be connected to other switches, routers, servers, and EtherNet communication devices because this switch comes with the EtherNet/IP interface that the users can access from any EtherNet port with the switch’s IP address.
The Allen-Bradley 1783-BMS06SA 6-port Stratix switch is a managed switch, and its 6 ports include 4 Ethernet slots and 2 SFP slots. Each of the 6 ports are labeled simply with a number from 1 to 6. The users can connect 2 external alarm systems to this switch to protect it from damage from things such as excessively high or low temperatures. The alarm systems can be connected to the 1783-BMS06SA switch through its alarm input port on the front panel. If the switch detects an excessive temperature or another operating hazard, it will immediately turn off the power to the PoE port, generate a syslog message, and update the power budget and the status indicators so that the users can clearly see what happened and remedy the fault as quickly as possible.
