The users can connect 2 external alarm systems to this switch to protect it from damage from things such as excessively high or low temperatures. The alarm systems can be connected to the 1783-BMS06SA switch through its alarm input port on the front panel. If the switch detects an excessive temperature or another operating hazard, it will immediately turn off the power to the PoE port, generate a syslog message, and update the power budget and the status indicators so that the users can clearly see what happened and remedy the fault as quickly as possible.
