Information About 1783-BMS20CL
The 1783-BMS20CL switch is a 20-port Ethernet switch. In supervisor mode, the switch can gather information from the ring and can manage the DLR status and machine-level DLR diagnostics. The supervisor node also provides alternate routes when it detects a ring break. DLR is used in high-performance network applications that cannot tolerate network outage. Of the 20 switch ports, 16 are RJ45 Fast Ethernet ports, 2 are Fast Ethernet combo ports, and the remaining 2 are Fast Ethernet fiber ports.
The 1783-BMS20CL switch runs on DC input ranging from 12 to 48 Volts DC. The minimum and maximum current draw of the switch are 0.5 Amps and 3 Amps, respectively. A SELV or Class 2 power supply should be used for the switch power. The typical power consumed by the 1783-BMS20CL switch is 21 Watts at 40 degrees Celsius and 24 Volts DC. The peak power consumption of the switch can reach 30 Watts. For isolation voltage, the 1783-BMS20CL switch has been type tested at 850 Volts DC for 60 seconds. The 1783-BMS20CL switch comes in an open enclosure with the T4 IEC temperature code. The weight and dimensions of the 1783-BMS20CLswitch are 2.04 kilograms and 5.1 x 5 x 5.3 inches. The operating temperature range for the 1783-BMS20CL switch is from -40 to 60 degrees Celsius.
The Allen-Bradley 1783-BMS20CL is a managed Ethernet Switch that is part of the Stratix 5700 product category. This Ethernet switch supports a variety of topologies, including Device Level Ring (DLR) for resilient network.
This ethernet switch may be used to implement Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) over Ethernet. CIP is an industrial protocol supported by Open Device Vendor’s Association (ODVA), for communication with Logix controllers, for data exchange as well as interaction with visualization systems.
This managed Ethernet switch is provided with Twenty (20) ports composed of Sixteen (16) Fast Ethernet Copper ports (FE) supporting 10/100 Mbps, Two (2) Gigabit Ethernet compo ports supporting 1Gbps transmission speed and Two (2) Small Form-factor pluggable network interface slots for Fiber Optic, Gigabit Ethernet.
This managed Ethernet switch supports implementation of Linear, Star, Device Level Ring and other topologies to fit industrial Ethernet networking requirements. This managed Ethernet switch has Eight (8) Fast Ethernet copper ports and Two (2) Gigabit Ethernet ports.
This Ethernet switch does not require a backplane for installation. It is a stand-alone device externally powered by a power supply unit that provides 0.5…3.0 A maximum Current @ 12-48VDC Voltage range with Class 2/Safety Extra Low Voltage (SELV).
The 1783-BMS20CL has an open-type enclosure. It requires installation inside an enclosure that offers protection to field contaminants and elements such as dirt, dust, moisture, water and other elements. The module’s required operating temperature is -40…+60 Degree Celsius or -40…+140 Degree Fahrenheit with maximum surrounding air of 60 Degree Celsius or 140 Degree Fahrenheit.
