Information About 1783-ETAP1F
The Allen-Bradley ETAP1F is an industrial networking device used for Ethernet I/P networks. This product is essentially an Ethernet switch that is built with Two (2) Copper Ports and One (1) Fiber Optic interface. This module is ideally used for linking Allen-Bradley devices such as controllers, communication and visualization devices for implementation of an industrially approved automation system.
The dual copper ports of the 1783-ETAP1F supports 10/100 Mbps with auto-negotiation function and supports full or half duplex modes while the single fiber optic ports of the 1783-ETAP1F is capable of 100Mbps also however, it supports longer communication distance with higher immunity to electrical noises and disturbances.
The 1783-ETAP1F is an externally mounted switch which does not require backplane for installation however, an appropriate enclosure is required to house the device for protection to industrial elements that may damage the module. The power supply requirement of the 1783-ETAP1F is 24VDC (nominal) with applicable range of 20.4…27.6V DC. This device may be mounted using a standard DIN rail or by direct mounting to the enclosure’s mounting plate. It supports horizontal and vertical mounting orientations with minimum clearances of 7.62 cm (3 in.) of space on the bottom of the tap and 2.54 cm (1 in.) of space on the remaining sides of the tap. For Fiber cable entry, at least 5.08 cm or 2 inches is recommended to comply with the necessary bending radius of the Fiber Optic cable.
The 1783-ETAP1F has built-in Diagnostic LEDS such as OK and Link1 and Link 2 status indicators.
This switch provides Ethernet connectivity via the embedded Two (2) copper ports and One (1) Fiber optic interface.
One of the advantages of the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1783-ETAP1F Ethernet/IP switch is that it enables users to combine the copper and fiber networks. Fiber networks are ideally used to cover longer distance between points and are less susceptible to electrical noise, providing clearer signals.
Manufacturer information
