Description 

The 1783-US8T Ethernet switch is an unmanaged 8-port Ethernet switch from the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation Stratix 2000 series. All 8 of its ports are fast Ethernet ports. The 1783-US8T unmanaged Ethernet switch does not have any SFP ports. It is made to be mounted on a DIN Rail and it does not have a protective enclosure. The 1783-US8T unmanaged Ethernet switch can operate at 18 to 30 Volts AC at 50 to 60 Hertz frequency and at 12 to 48 Volts DC.

The Allen-Bradley 1783-US8T Stratix 2000 Ethernet unmanaged switch has 8 RJ45 10-100 copper ports and an Ethernet data rate of 10-100 Mbps. This switch works with packet-based thresholds and it has broadcast storm thresholds of 20 packets per second (pps) for 10 Mbps per port and 200 pps for 100 Mbps per port. Yellow and green status indicators are also available, and these indicators have a 105-ms blink rate. The indicators allow you to see the current status of the switch’s network connection or of the network activity, port speed, and power supply. It uses a din rail for mounting, has an open-type enclosure, and measures 5.31 x 4.19 x 2.11 inches. 

For DC power connections, the 1783-US8T switch requires a 0.75 to 2.5 mm2 (18-14 AWG) twisted-pair copper wire. For functional earth connections, the wire should be 2.5 mm2 (14 AWG) copper wire with a suitable ring terminal. Wires should be rated for a temperature 30 ËšC above the surrounding ambient temperature outside the switch’s enclosure.

The maximum surrounding air temperature is 60 ËšC and the 1783-US8T has a non-condensing relative humidity range of 5-95%. Its operating temperature is 0-60 ËšC and its non-operating temperature is -40-85 ËšC. The operating vibration is 2 g at 10-500 Hz, the operating shock is 15 g, and the non-operating shock is 30 g.

Its maximum power dissipation is 4.04 W at 24V AC/DC and the current rating is 361 mA. The maximum inrush current of the 1783-US8T switch is 2.2 A and the required power supply is 24V (18-60V DC, 18-30V AC, 50-60 Hz), Class 2/SELV. This switch also has a continuous isolation voltage of 30V from the power to the network channels that has been type tested at 500V AC for 60 seconds and is of a basic insulation type. Note that the 1783-US8T switch does not have an isolation between the individual network channels.
