The Allen Bradley 1784-PCID card is a DeviceNet PCI interface card. It provides DeviceNet I/O scan, configuration, and monitoring capabilities. A SELV (Safety Extra Low Voltage) or a PELV (Protected Extra Low Voltage) power supply must be used to supply the system power to comply with the CE low voltage directives. The package from the manufacturer containing the 1784-PCID card also contains a terminal block connector, a driver CD-ROM, and installation instructions. The 1784-PCID card only provides DeviceNet configuration and messaging capabilities.

The front of the 1784-PCID card contains the DeviceNet interface and status indicators for I/O status, network status, and module status updates. The 1784-PCID card is compliant to PCI rev 2.1. The mechanical specifications for the card include dimensions of 4.2 x 4.721 inches. The power supply requirements for the card when it is installed in a PC are 5 Volts DC voltage and a maximum current draw of 625 milliamps.
