Information About 1794-IE12
The Allen-Bradley 1794-IE12 is a high-density analog input module from the Flex I/O product family. This module is primarily used to interface analog devices such as Transmitters, indicators, recorders, single-loop and multi-loop controllers and other devices.
The 1794-IE12 comes with Twelve (12) analog input channels, configurable for 0 to 20mA, 4 to 20 mA, +/- 10VDC and 0 to 10 VDC input signal type. It has an integrated analog to digital conversion circuitry using successive approximation method with resolution of 320 ?V/cnt for voltage and 0.641 ?A/cnt for current. The analog data format is stored in a 16-bit, left justified register with 8.0 ms conversion rate on all channels. The absolute accuracy of the 1794-IE12 is 0.1% full scale @ 25 °C for Voltage and current input with accuracy drift of 0.004% Full Scale/°C.
The 1794-IE12 is designed for use with the 1794-TB3G and 1794-TB3GS terminal bases. Only one terminal base is required per module. When installing the module to the appropriate terminal base, the intended keyswitch position is 3. Keyswitch position is a fool-proof hardware installation key preventing incorrect modules from being installed to incorrect terminal base.
The 1794-IE12 operates when supplied with a nominal voltage supply of 24VDC, with an acceptable voltage supply range of 10 to 31.2 VDC. It has a physical dimension of 3.7 x 3.7 x 2.1 inches. Status of the module is reported in groups through the Light Emitting Diode (LED) green/red power/status indicator.
The 1794-IE12 has open-type enclosure. The compatible terminal bases for this analog input module are 1794-TB3GS and 1794-TB3G. The voltage rating of the 1794-IE12 module is 24 Volts DC and with an acceptable range of range is 10.5 to 31.2 VDC.
The 1794-IE12 are compatible with input signal types such as 4 to 20 mA or 0 to 20 mA. The module has a nominal external DC supply current of 30 mA at 24 Volts DC, one of 45 mA at 10 Volts DC, and a 60 mA certification. It also has a maximum input overload of 30 Volts or 32 mA, both continuous and for one channel at a time.
This module has an absolute accuracy of 0.1% full scale at 25 degrees Celsius for both the current and voltage input. Its accuracy drift with temperature is 0.004% full-scale per degree Celsius for both the voltage and current. It also has an input step response of 1.3 seconds for both current and voltage input in general and of 0.09 seconds for both the current and voltage input with Quick Step. The 1794-IE12’s power dissipation is 1.2 W at 31.2 Volts DC and its thermal dissipation is 4.1 BTU/hour at 31.2 Volts DC as well. Note that there is no isolation between individual channels. The module has an operating vibration of 5 g at 10 to 500 Hertz, an operating shock of 30 g, and a non-operating shock of 50 g. The operating temperature of the 1794-IE12 module is between -20 and 60 degrees Celsius and its storage temperature is between -40 and 85 degrees Celsius.
