The 194R-HM4 operating handle is a disconnect switch accessory available from Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. It is compatible with the IEC non-fused disconnect switches, the IEC fused disconnect switches, and the UL disconnect switches. The degree of protection available with this operating handle is IP 66 and this is equivalent to a Type 3R/3/12/4/4X enclosure rating. It comes in a black and gray color. The 194R-HM4 operating handle accepts up to 3 padlocks. Some of the accessories that come with this handle include a cone guide for shafts that are longer than 320 millimeters, padlocks, and an operating handle shaft. This handle enhances the external operation of the disconnect switch through standard orientation with a defeater.

The 194R-HM4 operating handle is UL listed, CE certified, and KC certified to meet different industrial requirements. It is suitable as an at-motor disconnect switch. It ensures added security with the padlock handle. During installation, make sure to mount the handle on a flat surface for Type 3, 3R, 4, 4X, and 12 enclosures. The handle is supplied with all the required accessories and bolt kits for installation. The recommended torque is 2.8 N-m. The 194R-HM4 operating handle is a dual-position operating handle. The 2 positions of the handle are the "on" and "off" positions. It helps to make the actuation of the switch independent from the door position. It is the most common type of operating handle for the main disconnect switches. The disconnect switch is normally operated from the exterior of the control panel with the panel door closed. The disconnect switch is mounted internally and its operating shaft extends through the door. The operating handle is mounted on the door panel exterior.
