Information About 1SU24001
1SU24001 is either a 1-phase or 3-phase SP500 drive and is manufactured by Reliance Electric. Regardless, the drive is enclosed in a size A 4X/12 enclosure (NEMA). The enclosure is water-tight and dust-tight, which is ideal for indoor environments. A base and keypad gaskets are supplied with the enclosure, which is not vented. The power loss is 70 watts and the AC input is 200-230 volts. The 3-phase version of this drive is either a 4, 6, or 8 kHz carrier.
Input power is directed through terminals R, S, and T, with a recommended wire size of 14 AWG. Output power is directed through terminals U, V, and W, with a recommended wire size of 14 AWG. DB power is directed through the (-) and (+) terminals, with a recommended wire size of 14 AWG. DB control is directed through terminals 12 and 13 on the terminal strip, with a recommended wire size of 14-22 AWG. Function loss is directed through terminals 10 and 11 on the terminal strip, with a recommended wire size of 14-22 AWG. The GND terminal is wired through the GND stud via 14 AWG wire.
Power wiring first requires verifying that the input power to the controller corresponds to the controller nameplate voltage and frequency. Also, the plant supply must be of sufficient capacity to support the input current requirements of the controller. The user must provide a transformer between the plant power supply and the controller if the correct input line voltage is not available. Using table 3-1 or 3-2, size upstream branch circuit protection (fuses) accordingly. Then size the input and output power wiring to handle the controller’s rated maximum current. Use 60/75° copper wire and use the tightening torque 9 to 12 in-lbs for all wire connections to input and output terminals. Wire the power input leads and route the motor leads through the bottom right opening of the controller base to terminals U, V, and W. Caution: do not route signal wiring with power wiring in the same conduit.
