Information About 20-750-S3
The 20-750-S3 module is an integrated safety module that is made for the Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 755/755T series drives. The module supports the safe torque off (STO) function. The 20-750-S3 also provides a networked or hardwired STO function. The networked STO function is provided via an Ethernet cable, and a safety controller issues the STO command which is executed by a connected PowerFlex drive. The STO feature is used to prevent unauthorized motor operation. The STO feature can be used in combination with other safety devices. The 20-750-S3 integrated safety module can be used for mechanical work on an affected machine and it does not provide electrical safety. Because the STO feature does not remove voltage at the drive output, the input power to the drive should be turned off before any maintenance work is performed.
The power to the Allen-Bradley 20-750-S3 PowerFlex 755/755T series integrated safety module has to be provided from a PELV or SELV supply that is rated for 24 Volts DC. The inputs on the module are current sinking inputs. The on-state input voltage range is 11 to 30 Volts DC at 3.5 milliamps. The off-state maximum input voltage rating is 5 Volts DC at 3.5 milliamps. The minimum on-state input current rating is 3.3 milliamps. The maximum off-state current rating is 1.5 milliamps. The recommended conductor size for the 20-750-S3 module is 28 to 18 AWG. Products with a safety function need to be protected against conductive contamination, and 2 methods are available. These protection methods include using a sealed enclosure with minimum protection rating of IP 54 or the provision of an environmentally controlled location that is free of conductive contamination. The 20-750-S3 integrated safety module is UL listed. It is also certified by the CE, C-Tick, and TUV standards.
