Information About 2098-DSD-020
The Allen-Bradley 2098-DSD-020 is an Ultra 3000 Digital Servo Drive. This drive is a Standard drive, designed to implement simple indexing or preconfigured drive motions as well as perform multi-axis motion control. The 2098-DSD-020 is operated by applying an input voltage range of 100-240VAC rms, 1-Phase, input current of 18 Amperes with frequency of 47-63 Hz. It has an output voltage of 100-240VAC and frequency range of 0-400 Hz continuous output power of 1kW with Continuous Output Current 1A and Intermittent Output Current of 30A and power of 1.0 kW at 115VAC input and 2.0 kW at 230VAC input.
The 2098-DSD-020 Digital Servo Drive has Eight (8) Opto-isolated discrete input channels. The input channels have ON State Voltage of 10.8.V, minimum, and 26.4V, maximum while the ON-state current is 3.0 mA, minimum and 12.0 mA, maximum. The OFF-State Voltage is IOCOM, to guarantee an OFF state. -1.0V minimum, and 2.0V maximum. It also has a relay output, composed of Normally Open contacts.
It also has test and commissioning tools used for stand-alone drive parameter configuration.
The 2098-DSD-020 drive provides automated identification through the use of Smart Motor Technology. This means that each specific motor attached to drive will have an identity that helps to safeguard the drive against inaccurate motor alternatives and reduced commissioning time.
It is important to take precautions to prevent damage to the 2098-DSD-020 drive. Damage can include improper sequencing of the input power as well as of the Drive Enable signal. To avoid this, it is crucial to assign 1 of the 8 inputs as Drive Enable, taking Input 1 as the default setting. If the drive is faulty or damaged, the Power (PWR) indicator on it will indicate that the drive is on, while the 7-segment status indicator will indicate that the drive is off. The 2098-DSD-020 has a continuous input current of 5 Amps, the 2098-DSD-020 produces a continuous output current of 2.5 Amps for an output power of 0.5 kW. The peak output current of the 2098-DSD-020 drive is 7.5 Amps. It accepts an input voltage between 100 and 240 Volts AC in single-phase mode (it also has a 3-phase voltage of 75 to 150 Volts AC), with an optional 5 Volts DC external logic power source. A higher input current can produce higher levels of output current and output power.
