The 2198-C4015-ERS servo drive from Allen-Bradley is a Kinetix 5300 series servo drive with a single axis. This servo drive communicates through the Ethernet network and it can support all of the different Ethernet communication topologies which are the star, ring, and linear topologies. The 2198-C4015-ERS servo drive connects different types of Allen-Bradley ControlLogix or CompactLogix series controllers in these different topologies to handle the applications that it is designed for. This servo drive needs a Size 2 frame and it can produce 2.78 Watts of continuous output power. Its 3-phase voltage range is from 342 to 528 Volts RMS, its continuous output current rating is 5.2 Amps RMS, and its peak output current is 18 Amps RMS.

The Allen-Bradley 2198-C4015-ERS Kinetix 5300 single-axis servo drive needs to have an AC line filter to meet the requirements of the CE standards. It is compatible with the Allen-Bradley 2198-DB08-F AC line filter, and this AC line filter needs to be installed with a minimum clearance space of 1.97 inches or 50 millimeters between it and the servo drive, and its cable length should be as short as possible. The 2198-C4015-ERS servo drive is built with internal solid-state protection against short circuits in its motor, and it can be used on high-powered circuits if it is protected with the right kind of fuse. For example, this servo drive can handle 200,000-Amp circuits with fuses that are rated for UL applications, it can handle 10,000-Amp circuits with miniature circuit breakers, and it can handle 65,000-Amp circuits with molded-case circuit breakers.
