Information About 2198-H015-ERS2
The 2198-H015-ERS2 is an Allen-Bradley Kinetix 5500 Ethernet I/P Digital Servo drive. This servo drive is used for motion and position control application and capable of directly integrating with controllers residing on the Ethernet I/P network. This drive provides the necessary output current and power to the drive a Kinetix servo motor, following the defined motion and positioning profile.
The 2198-H015-ERS2 is specifically compatible with CompactLogix 5370 controllers for implementing integrated motion over Ethernet I/P. Depending on the controller, motion axes may be defined. A motion axes may be composed of any combination of CIP Drives axes, consumed axes, virtual axes and other configurable axes. Additionally, Position loop, Velocity loop and Torque loop may be configured with the controller.
The 2198-H015-ERS2 is powered by an input voltage range of 195-264V rms, 3-phase and 324-528V rms, 3-phase while the nominal voltage levels are 240V and 480 V, respectively. This drive provides a continuous output current (rms) of 13.0 A, peak output Current of 32.5 A and output power of 4.0kW - 8.3 kW depending on the input voltage supply. This drive has an internal shunt resistance of 60 ? and internal shunt power of 50 W. This drive supports 300 Hz maximum velocity bandwidth and 1000 Hz current loop bandwidth.
The 2198-H015-ERS2 comes with Two (2) Ethernet communication interface. These ports support Linear, Star and Device Level Ring (DLR) topologies. This eliminates the need of purchasing an additional adapter to enable communication with the partner controller and devices. This servo drive is also capable of Safe Torque-Off (STO) functionality as the integrated functional safety of the drive.
It is part of the Kinetix 5500 Servo Drive Systems that have internal shunt resistors that assist in the dissipation of excessive energy. Shared DC bus capacitance can be further increased with Bulletin 2198 capacitor modules and Bulletin 2097 external shunt resistors. The 2198-H015-ERS2 Module provides Kinetix Integrated Motion solution for drive applications involving motors and actuators. It features standalone and multi-axis bus-sharing capability and can be configured for shared DC, shared AC, multi-axis shared DC/ AC, or shared DC/AC hybrid installations. It has a 2-pin Motor Feedback (MF) connector that can be used for feedback connections. This flexible module also supports any Ethernet topology, from linear or ring to star topologies through additional GuardLogix, CompactLogix, or ControlLogix programmable controllers. The 2198-H015-ERS2 Servo Drive executes the safe torque-off command via the EtherNet network that is issued by the Compact GuardLogix 5370 or GuardLogix 5570 safety controller. Its zero-stack feature allows efficient use of space for multiple drive installations. Make sure that the tab and cutout are engaged properly and in adjacent from drive-to-drive for proper spacing. This ensures that the shared-bus connection system can be accommodated. When mounting, construct subpanels from zinc plated and paint-free steel to enhance the bond with the drive.
