Information About 2198-H025-ERS
The Allen-Bradley 2198-H025-ERS is a motion and position control drive that is part of the 2198 product bulletin. This product is a Kinetix 5500 Ethernet I/P Servo drive that comes with modern control and connectivity features. This drive is compatible with the the Studio 5000 Design environment for implementing integrated architecture. Using the integrated architecture and the integrated dual Ethernet communication interfaces 2198-H025-ERS may be fully integrated to CompactLogix, ControlLogix and GuardLogix controller platforms. Integrating this Kinetix drives to these controllers enables access to the drive parameters through add-on instruction and profiles.
The 2198-H025-ERS operates when supplied with a voltage range of 195-264V rms, 3-phase and nominal value of 240V. It is also compatible with 324-528V rms, 3-phase with 480VAC nominal voltage level. It delivers a continuous output current (rms) of 8.0 A, peak output Current of 11.3 A and output power of 4.0kW @ 195-264V rms, three-phase and 8.3 kW @ 324-528V rms, three-phase.
For branch circuit protection, Allen-Bradley recommends installation of protective devices such as fuse and circuit breakers. For the 2198-H025-ERS, appropriate fuse is KTK-R-20 Bussman fuse and Molded Case CB 140U-D6D3-C20 if used for UL applications. For non-UL applications, recommended DIN gG Fuses is 20 A and Molded case circuit breaker 140U-D6D3-C20. This drive also supports installation in Shared DC or common-bus drive systems, Shared AC Drive Systems and Shared AC/DC and Hybrid Systems.
This Bulletin 2198 Module is three phase and has a frame size of two (2), a continuous output current of 11.3 A 0-pk, and 240 to 480 Volts of nominal drive voltage with an input voltage range of 324 to 528 Volts RMS. It comes with dual-port connectivity to support a linear, ring, or star Ethernet topology using additional CompactLogix, GuardLogix, or ControlLogix programmable controllers. The 2198-H025-ERS Servo Drive features the hardwired safe torque-off or STO functionality. This allows the inverter power transistors to be safely turned off as a response to a digital input. It supports cascading of parallel input terminals to adjacent drives. To wire external devices and cascade hardwired safety connections from one drive to another, an STO connector is used. However, not all applications will require this safety function. In this case, jumper wires must be installed to bypass the STO feature. The 2198-H025-ERS Module ships with installation instructions, a connector kit for motor feedback, a wiring plug connector for shunt power/ RC connections and connectors for safe torque-off (STO), 24 Volts of control input power (CP), digital inputs (IOD), mains input power (IPD), motor brake (BC), and motor power. The 2198-H025-ERS is designed for use in both grounded and ungrounded power setups. By default, grounding screws are installed for grounded configurations. Remove these when operating in ungrounded, corner-grounded, and impedance-grounded environments
