The Allen-Bradley 2198-P031 is a DC-bus power supply for the Kinetix 5700 servo drive. It has three-phase 324 - 528V (480V nominal) RMS AC input voltage with A 47-63 Hz frequency. It has a module width of 55mm. It has an 11.2 A main AC input current, a 33A Max inrush (0-peak) current, and a 33.4A peak AC input current. The continuous and peak output current-to-bus are 10.5A and 31.6A respectively. The continuous and peak output power-to-bus are 7 kW and 21 kW respectively. The 2198-P031 is a 55 millimeter width module. This power supply is mainly used to provide additional output power to the DC bus. Additionally, the DC bus may also be extended to provide power to additional inverter clusters with the use of accessory modules.

The 2198-P031 components include DC-bus end caps, wiring plug connector sets for mains input (IPD) and 24 Volts DC control input power (CP), discrete inputs (IOD), shunt power (RC) and contactor enable (CED). It also has a wiring plug connector used for shunt power labeled as RC.

The 2198-P031 is provided with a ground screw mounted on the side. This ground screw terminal comes with an access door that needs to be flipped open to be able to terminate ground wire for connection to the grounding bus bar. For ungrounded, corner-grounded and impedance grounded power arrangements, the pre-installed ground screw must be removed.

The 2198-P031 supports direct panel mounting. Only upright position is supported by this power supply module. Mounting clearances must be met to ensure proper air flow and provide adequate working space. Top clearance requirement is 40 millimeters or 1.57 inches and 100 millimeters or 3.94 inches for bottom clearance. Side clearances are not required. Additionally, this power supply module supports zero stacking. To do so, install multiple instances of the 2198-P031 side by side, aligning the zero stacking tab. Users can build shared bus connection with this configuration.
