The Allen-Bradley 25B-D024N104 is a PowerFlex adjustable Frequency AC Drive. This drive, among any other adjustable frequency drives are primarily used to implement discrete motor control such as Start / Stop, Forward / Reverse, Jog / Manual and Automatic and Single / Continuous operation. Aside from carrying standard motor control commands, this adjustable frequency AC drive enables analog speed control through by providing PWM signal to the motor, implemented through a variety configurable control methods such as Volts per Hertz (V/Hz), Sensorless Vector Control (SVC), Closed loop velocity vector control and Permanent Magnet motor control.

Aside from the control methods supported by the 25B-D024N104 include positioning control through Closed loop feedback with an optional encoder card and Point-to-point positioning mode. It also implements PointStop technology which is a trademark of Allen-Bradley, used to halt motor load in a consistent manner without requiring use of an encoder feedback. This adjustable frequency drive also comes with integral Proportional + Integral + Derivative (PID) control algorithm capability which allow the drive to automatically regulate and maintain the speed of the motor at a specified setpoint without the need of an external controller that implements the same control algorithm.

Commonly called as a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), Variable Speed Drive (VSD), Adjustable Speed Drive (ASD) or simply a frequency inverter, this unit operates when supplied with nominal voltage of 480VAC, 3-Phase. Another human-machine integration interface is the LCD screen which allows for text scrolling. The LCD screen comes with support for multiple languages and allows MainFreeâ„¢ programming through the provided USB cable. The 25B-D024N104 also features embedded input/output ports with 7 digital inputs and 2 digital outputs. There are 2 analog inputs with 1 analog output and 2 relay outputs.
