Information About 2711-T6C20L1
The Allen-Bradley 2711-T6C20L1 is a PanelView operator terminal with a 6-inch, colored display and touch operator interface. This operator terminal is a discontinued product that is used to implement machine and process automation by providing real-time monitoring of instruments installed along the system and permit control by allowing operators to touch the intended object to implement the appropriate command.
The 2711-T6C20L1 also has a single Ethernet interface, supporting 10/100 Mbps with auto-negotiation. With the single Ethernet port, it supports linear topology however, Device Level Ring (DLR) may be achieved with the use of an external switch such as Allen-Bradley ETAP and other similar devices. It has a second port which is an RS232 port with 9-pin sub-D connector used for communicating with an alarm and event printer.
This operator terminal is intended to be wired to an external DC power supply with output range of 18-32VDC. Additionally, it has a power consumption of 24 W max. (1.0A @ 24V DC) and heat dissipation of 32 Watts (107 BTU/HR). This operator terminal can be configured to communicate with legacy and mature products such as the PLC5, SLC500 and MicroLogix controllers as well as modern controllers including the CompactLogix and ControlLogix controllers.
The unit is designed to be installed in an IP54 or IP65 (NEMA Type 12, 13, NEMA 4X - indoor use only) enclosure. On the back of the device, there is a reset button to reinitiate the start of the application that is running on the display without terminating the power supply to the unit. Always press this button with a narrow, non-conductive tool. The 2711-T6C20L1 can store application backup on the memory card that is inserted in the back part of the device. The unit is shipped with approximate dimensions of 185 millimeters x 152 millimeters x 96 millimeters. During the installation, leave enough space around it for mounting, maintenance, air circulation, and memory card and legend label installation. Tighten the mounting screws in a way to make a tight and even gasket seal contact.
