Being part of the early versions of HMI, this operator terminal comes with a 14-inch Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) with display area of 247.6 mm × 185.7 mm and 256 fixed colors with a resolution of 640 by 480 pixels and an integrated anti-glare component for and improved view of the HMI display.
This PanelView 1400e allows operator interaction via the touchscreen interface with Minimum size of 40 × 40 pixel touch cell and a maximum number of touch cells at 192 or 16x12 pixels. This touchscreen membrane is rated for an actuation rating range of 2.5 to 3 oz or 71 to 85 grams. It is made of cast aluminum with black powder coating bezel and 95% gloss, hard-coated, scratch-resistant polyester, over chemically strengthened glass touch membrane.
Available communication interfaces with this operator terminal are Data Highway Plus (DH+) / Remote I/O communications port which support high-speed communication utilizing daisy-chain topology. This communication interface uses a common communication cable which is the Allen-Bradley 1771-CD or Belden 9463 communication cable.

These allow the device to achieve direct access to the other RIP ports without the PLC Logic module. The 2711E-T14C6 comes with the RS-232 serial featuring the ControlNet/RIO pass-through feature. The unit supports connectivity to multiple PLCs as well as the other PanelView terminals. It has a 24-hour display clock that can adjust accurately for up to 7 minutes per month at 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit).
