The Edwards 3-IDC8/4 (part number 3-IDC) is an initiating device circuit module designed for EST3 systems, providing eight supervised Class B input circuits with flexible configuration options. Up to four of the eight circuits can be reconfigured as Notification Appliance Circuits (NACs), supporting retrofit applications with existing wiring and devices. The 3-IDC is a local rail module that supports retrofit and new installation projects where conventional hardwired circuits need to interface with the EST3 system. It is compatible with normally open contact devices, as well as traditional two-wire smoke detectors, with software-selectable impedance ranges to eliminate compatibility issues. Each circuit may be programmed for latching or non-latching operation, with verification options available for smoke detection. The module also allows event-follower configurations for supervisory functions like fan or damper control, making it versatile in life safety applications.
