Description 

The Allen-Bradley 5069-IB8S is a Compact 5000 Safety sinking input module. This module features Eight (8) input channels, accepting signal voltage range of 18-32VDC. It also has Two (2) test output channels and Two (2) test output/muting output channels. This module is suitable for applications that are rated up to and including Category 3 Safety Integrity Level (SIL).

The Allen-Bradley 5069-IB8S is a Compact 5000 I/O module. This module is a Digital Eight (8) channel safety input module. It supports sinking wiring configuration and suitable for use in applications that require up to and including Safety Integrity Level (SIL) CL3 and PLe, Cat. 4 as indicated by international standards IEC 61508, IEC 61511, IEC 62061, and ISO 13849-1.

This module may be used as local module of any Compact GuardLogix 5380 Controller. It may also act as a distributed I/O component of GuardLogix 5580 controllers.

The 5069-IB8S mainly features Eight (8) safety input channels. It also has Two (2) test outputs and channels and Two (2) test output / muting output channels. To achieve the intended rating of the 5069-IB8S, the controller assembly as well as input devices must comply with some criteria including Fault Exclusion is External Wiring fault, sensors used are similarly SIL CL3, PLd, Cat. 3 rated sensors and any of configurations such as Input Point Mode = Safety Pulse Test or Test Output Mode = Pulse Test or Input Point Mode = Safety or Test Output Mode = Power Supply.

The 5069-IB8S has input rating of 2.5 mA per channel, Test output rating of 300 mA per channel, MOD power of 75 mA @ 18-32V DC, maximum MOD power passthrough of 5 A @ 18-32V DC, SA power of 100 mA@ 18-32V DC and maximum SA power passthrough of 9.95 A @ 18-32V DC.

The 5069-IB8S safety input module is a local device, and this means that it resides in the same system as the controller. The module is installed to the right of the controller and it exchanges data through a system backplane. Access to the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 5069-IB8S safety input module can be protected through a password, physical barriers such as locked cabinets, and by deploying EtherNet/IP devices.
