The Allen-Bradley 5069-IY4 is a universal analog input module that is part of the Compact 500 I/O modules. This module mainly features Four (4) differential input channels that are compatible with a variety of input signals such as Voltage, Current, Resistance, Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD), millivolt and Thermocouple signals and sensors.
When configured for Voltage input, this module supports voltage ranges such as ±10V, 0-10V and 0-5VDC. Similarly, when configured for millivolt input, acceptable input range is +/- 100 mV. When set to accept current input, this module is compatible with 0-20 mA and 4-20 mA input signals. Additionally, for resistance input, this module accommodates 1-500 ?, 2-1000 ?, 4-2000 ? and 8-4000 ? resistive signal.
For industrial sensor inputs, the 5069-IY4 may also be configured to directly interface with Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) and Thermocouple sensors. Compatible RTD sensors include 100, 200, 500, 1000 ? platinum, alpha=385; 100, 200, 500, 1000 ? platinum, alpha=3916; 120 ? nickel, alpha=672; 100, 120, 200, 500 ? nickel, alpha=618 and 10 ? copper 427. For Thermocouple sensors, this module is compatible with Thermocouple type B, C, D, E, J, K, L (TXK/XK), N, R, S and T.
This module is equipped with a Sigma-Delta analog to digital converter circuit. It converts and saves data in IEEE 32-bit floating point format. It has a module scan time of 625 µs per channel and 2.5 ms per group. It has an overcurrent and overvoltage protection rating of ± 30 mA and ± 30V DC, respectively.
The module power bus, or the MOD power bus Passthrough voltage range and the normal voltage range of this module are both 18-32V DC, the maximum current rating is 9.55 A, and the maximum current is 75 mA. The SA or Sensor Actuator maximum Field Power current is 100 mA, the Field Power voltage range is 18-32V DC, the Passthrough voltage range is 0-32V DC, and the maximum current rating is 9.95 A. The maximum power dissipation of the 5069-IY4 module are 1.8 W at both the voltage mode and the Thermocouple/millivolt mode and 2.1 W at both the current mode and the RTD mode. Its maximum power dissipations are 6.1 BTU/hr at both the voltage and the Thermocouple/millivolt modes and 7.2 BTU/hour at both the current and RTD modes. This module is factory-calibrated, however, calibration may be configured as needed. The status indicators present are 4 yellow and red I/O status LEDs, 1 green and red module status LEDs, and 2 yellow and red CJC status LEDs.
