The 5069-L310ER has a modular design, compatible up installing up to Eight (8) 5069 Compact I/O modules as local I/O chassis. It has an embedded 1MB user memory and ships with a 1784-SD2 non-volatile memory amounting to 2GB memory. Memory expansion is possible with the use of 1784-SDHC8 (8 GB), 1784-SDHC32 (32 GB),and 9509-CMSDCD4 (4 GB) CodeMeter CmCard card.

The built-in communication interfaces includes One (1) USB port and Two (2) Ethernet ports. The dual Ethernet ports supports different ethernet I/P topologies such as Star, Linear and Ring topologies. Up to 24 Ethernet I/P nodes is supported by this controller and capable of transmission speeds such as 10, 100 and 1Gbps in full-duplex operation only.

The 5069-L310Er is capable of executing 32 tasks with each task having 1000 programs while supporting all event triggers. This controller is capable of being programmed using the IEC-61131-3 programming languages such as Ladder Diagram, Structured Text, Sequential Function Chart and Function Block Diagram.
