The 5069-L310ERS2 is a Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) with integrated safety functionality. Specifically, this controller is a Compact GuardLogix 5380 controller that is Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 2 rated. This controller is used in applications to meet the mentioned SIL rating and without fault tolerance.
The 5069-L310ERS2 remains a DIN rail mountable device. Allen-Bradley recommends use of zinc-plated, chromate steel DIN rail or the EN50022 DIN rail which measures - 35 x 7.5 mm (1.38 x 0.30 in.). Avoid using DIN rail made of plastic or material with poor conductivity. Additionally, DIN rails that are highly susceptible to corrosion and oxidation must not be used. DIN rail provides grounding connection, connection must be maintained by this accessory.
The 5069-L310ERS2 supports horizonal mounting only. As this controller comes with an open type enclosure, it must installed within an enclosure that provides adequate protection against industrial contaminants such as dust, dirt, grease, corrosive gasses, among others. Temperature within the panel must be maintained within 0°C - 60°C or 32°F - 140 °F). As this device is DIN rail mounted, vibration and shock must be limited to 5 g @ 10…500 Hz and 30 g, respectively.
The 5069-L310ERS2 is provided with 1 MB standard user memory, 0.5 MB safety memory along an embedded 2 GB memory provided by the 1784-SD2 Secure Digital (SD) card that ships with the controller. It has Dual Ethernet I/P port for connection or implementing Linear, Star and Device Level Ring (DLR) topology. It also has One (1) USB port and support a total of 32 tasks wherein 31 can be assigned as standard task and 1 as safety task.
This controller has the capacity to take on up to 32 tasks at a time, and it can handle up to 1000 programs within each of these tasks. This controller comes with 1 MB of user memory and 0.5 MB of safety memory. The 5069-L310ERS2 controller can connect to 24 Ethernet/IP network nodes maximum at a time. It can also host 8 local I/O modules at a time, and these local I/O modules are compatible Allen-Bradley I/O modules which are connected to the right side of the controller.
