The Allen-Bradley 5069-L380ERM is a CompactLogix 5380 controller. This is a Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) that is used for general purpose and standard automation requirements. This controller also comes with embedded motion control capability as it can implement such control over Ethernet I/P.
The 5069-L380ERM mainly features an 8 MB user memory coupled with a 2 GB non-volatile memory. This non-volatile may be expanded up to 32 GB or to other size as needed. Compatible Secure Digital (SD) cards for memory expansion are 1784-SD1 (1 GB), 1784-SDHC8 (8 GB),1784-SDHC32 (32 GB) and 9509-CMSDCD4 (4 GB) CodeMeter CmCard card.
The 5069-L380ERM can be configured with up to 32 periodic, continuous and event task types. Each task can handle up to 1000 programs. For communication, this controller is provided with Two (2) Ethernet communication interfaces as primary communication ports and One (1) USB port for local communication and configuration purposes. Industrial communication is not supported by the USB port. The transmission rate of the Ethernet port can be configured for 10 / 100 Mbps and 1 Gbps while the USB port supports 12 Mbps transmission speed.
This controller supports configuration of up to 256 motion axes and 24 CIP drive axes. Motion axes may be composed of CIP Drive, Virtual, and consumed axes as well as Regenerative AC/DC Converter and Non-Regenerative AC/DC Converter axis types.
The 5069-L380ERM controller provides 300V (continuous) voltage isolation between the MOD Power and the Backplane, the Ethernet and the Backplane, and the USB and the Backplane using the basic insulation type, and it provides 300V (continuous) isolation voltage between the USB and the SA Power, Ethernet and SA Power, and the Ethernet and the MOD Power using the double insulation type. The controller’s processor has about 1000 programs/tasks, and it may use the all event triggers mechanism for unlimited tasking events. It also comes with 2 Ethernet/IP base configured ports with supports for DLR, Star and Linear Topologies, and with a 10-Mbp, a 100-Mbp, and a 1-GB/s data transmission rate using only the full-duplex transfer protocol. The controller has about 70 EtherNet/IP node addresses, with a maximum of 32 socket interfaces, and will support as many as 28 Axis Integrated Motion. The controller comes with full 10MB User memory and it supports External memory card slot for memory expansion. The 5069-L380ERM is installed using the DIN Rail, and a Removable Terminal Block (RTB) with 0.4 Nm (3.5 lbs-in) of Terminal Screw Torque. It has T4 ATEX, North America, and IEC temperature codes, and has an operational temperature between 0 °C and 60 °C at a humidity range of about 5-95%, non-condensing.
